Wedding Welcome Bags

Paul and Meghan, our bride & groom this past weekend enjoyed amazing weather during their wedding weekend.  We’ve been lucky as we’ve had wonderful weather this summer so guests have been able to take full advantage of our pool and Echo Lake.

One of the surprising things about weddings at the Inn is although we have several amenities right on site (tennis, basketball, volleyball, billiards and more) many guests just want to relax and visit with friends and family.

Meghan, our bride this weekend had clever way of creating gift bags for her weekend guests.  She made welcome bags from Vermont maps!  They were well received and she said quite easy to make.  Click the photo below for DYI instructions.

Want to add a special touch to welcome everyone to your wedding?  Consider providing a welcome bag.  Although I’ve seen luxurious welcome baskets (here & here), you can certainly prepare something more budget-friendly.

We have several free publications including area attractions and Vermont road maps that are available to guests in our lobby.

A simple paper gift bag or an old fashioned lunch bag with your monogram both work well and they’re recyclable.  Tuck in a few quick nibbles (like chips or cookies) along with a welcome letter and you’re done. For environmental reasons, we don’t recommend individual water bottle plus, nothing beats fresh Vermont water!

Some other things you may consider adding (if budget allows):

Single dose packets of advil and antacid

A post card (we have them available in our lobby)

Individual packets of tissues

A few Hershey’s Kisses or Lake Champlain Chocolates

A piece of seasonal fruit (perhaps apples in the fall)

A piece of maple candy

Have a bit more time than money?  Nothing says “I appreciate you”, like a heartfelt, handwritten note.  We give brides and grooms a master lodging list so they can slip a personal note into the guests rooms before arrival.

All the best –

Laurence
